University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice

In 1950, the Veterinary College in Košice was officially established.

In 1952, the structure of the college was reorganized, and it merged with the Agricultural College in Nitra.

In 1969, a law was passed to restore the Veterinary College in Košice.

The name was changed from College to University in 1992, in accordance with the law of the Slovak Government.

The University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice (Univerzita veterinárskeho lekárstva a farmácie v Košiciach) offers education at all three levels of higher education: bachelor's, master's, and doctoral studies.

Applications for admission must be submitted by March 31, 2024.
A resume must be attached to the application. Diplomas obtained at the university are recognized in other EU countries.

Master's Degree: 2 years
Doctoral Degree: 3 years or more

The University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice offers an English-taught program in General Veterinary Medicine with a duration of 6 years, upon completion of which graduates are awarded the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).

Requirements:

To apply for the programs "General Veterinary Medicine," "Food Hygiene," and "Pharmacy" at the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, applicants must pass entrance exams in biology and chemistry.

For the programs "Cynology," "Feed and Food Safety," and "Human-Animal Interaction and Its Application in Canistherapy and Hippotherapy," no entrance exams are required.

Tuition Fees:

At the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, education in English is fee-based, with tuition fees ranging from €5,000 to €8,000 per year, depending on the program.
