On September 19, an awarding of certificates was held at the Information Centre of Comenius University for students who successfully completed free Slovak language courses.
These courses were made possible thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the iCan Language School, and are carried out under the auspices of the Department of International Relations within the Action Plan for the Internationalization of Comenius University in Bratislava. The ceremony was also attended by the Director of the Department of International Relations of Comenius University, JUDr. Martin Považan.
A total of 196 CU students enrolled in the Slovak language courses, of which 80 successfully completed the courses in August and September and received their certificates.
At the meeting, we discussed how the Slovak language becomes a key to integration, addressed important issues related to living in the country, the functioning of the healthcare system for foreigners, and also heard students’ experiences about life and work in Slovakia.
The cooperation between the iCan Language School and Comenius University provides students with practical support, helps them feel more confident, better navigate the new country, and gradually build their lives here.
We thank the Ukrainian Children’s and Youth Parliament and the Office of the Commissioner for Children for their participation — their contribution made our meeting even more valuable.
We are glad that we are creating not only a language environment for students, but also a space where they feel supported and can integrate more easily.
